My name is Kimberly and I have always loved healthy cooking. I grew up in a family who also enjoyed cooking, which allowed me to experiment in the kitchen at a young age. Meals became a highlight of our family’s day and I always looked forward to sitting at the dinner table together.
As I grew older, I embraced physical activity and what I thought was a healthy lifestyle. What I didn’t realize is that health is based on so much more than just exercise and food. Although my family and I were exercising and eating fairly well, I started to see my children struggle with weight, food intake, and self-esteem. This bothered me more than anything I could ever personally experience because I was doing everything I knew how to do to help them and not making any progress. At this point I enrolled in the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and learned how important it is to get rid of processed foods and simply eat clean. I also learned that one person’s food is another person’s poison and our bodies and environments are very different and we have to respect that. Becoming a certified health coach has been a great accomplishment that has benefitted myself and my family. I hope to help others along the way so that they can learn how beneficial it is to eat and be healthy.
I have a Master’s degree in Hospitality Management from UNLV and worked for several years with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company in sales and catering. I learned through this experience how important customer service is and I use this to personally customize parties and events for my clients. After my hotel years, I owned and operated 5 franchise retail stores and although I appreciated customer service, I quickly discovered how important it was to the overall operations of an organization. I have worked hard to create an environment in my kitchen that makes people of all ages feel like they are at home. There isn’t any commercial equipment, rather stoves, pots, pans, knives, utensils, etc. that we use everyday in our own homes. This allows children and others to go home and easily recreate what they have learned. Whether I am cooking for a business breakfast meeting, customers are cooking together in a social setting or I’m teaching kids at camp, everything that we do is based on clean eating and will always accommodate allergies, intolerances or special diets. I am very excited about all that is being offered at Happy and Healthy Ways and look forward to hearing feedback about what customers want and need. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to spend time with you and your families and help everyone better their lives!
